A dedicated native Switch 2 product
Nintendo's Switch 2 page identifies a dedicated product for the newer console. The collected FAQ also includes Switch 2 among the announced platforms. This establishes a native edition rather than merely inferring support from the original Switch release.
The boxed Game-Key Card format
The publisher FAQ identifies the Switch 2 boxed edition as a Game-Key Card. Retail and distribution material corroborates the boxed product. Use that format name when comparing an order with the original Switch box, rather than treating the two product descriptions as interchangeable.
Digital and physical dates
The native Switch 2 digital date is October 14, 2026. The boxed Game-Key Card product follows on October 16. Those dates describe different formats for the same platform and should remain attached to their corresponding product listings.
The developer’s qualitative comparison
The collected developer answer says Switch 2 allows higher resolution and frame rate than original Switch. It supplies no numerical target in the material available for this page. The statement is therefore presented as a qualitative developer comparison, not a tested 4K or 60 FPS benchmark.
Do not confuse compatibility with the native edition
The original Switch product's backward-compatibility status concerns a different edition. It does not replace the native Switch 2 product page. The collected notes also do not independently establish a free-upgrade process, cross-generation save transfer or mouse-control support, so none is advertised here.
